What does it take?
Puptown Houston trains assistance and therapy dogs for those in need. Veterans and first responders with PTSD, anxiety, or mobility issues receive discounted training as a thank-you for their service.
Puptown Houston offers discounted service dog training, financing, and funding assistance. Typical costs range from $10,000-$30,000, compared to the usual $30,000-$50,000. Contact us for details on programs and support options.
Puptown currently does not have a formal application process. However, we ask those interested in receiving a service dog or having their current dog trained to arrange an interview time to discuss training goals, needs and interest.
Service dog training takes 3-12 months, depending on the dog's age, skills, and tasks needed. Puptown Houston can help select a dog but can work with dogs you already own if suitable.
We currently do not provide dogs for those who are hearing impaired, visually impaired, or require dogs who can detect. However, we can provide dogs seizure response dogs, mobility assistance dogs, PTSD dogs, and more. Please contact us for further details.
